Exhibition at the Fountain Gallery

I’m very pleased to be showing some of my latest pots at the Fountain Gallery in Hampton. Check it out:

What’s on at the Fountain Gallery

I’m showing there with Jo Buonaguidi (drawings), Rachel Ducker (wire sculpture), and Emma Forrester (paintings). I think you’ll be impressed by all of the stuff on show. The pots look fantastic with these works.

Private view is on Sunday 22nd August. If you can’t make it, the show is up until the end of August.

It’s on Bridge Road, a charming shopping street just a few steps over the river from Hampton Court Palace and practically opposite Hampton Court train station. By car, it’s just off the A309, immediately before Hampton Bridge. OPening times are Tuesday to Saturday, 11am to 5pm. Hope you can make it!

Potfest in the Pens - 6,7,8 August

It’s that time of year again.  I’m already excited to be going to the Potfest in the Pens. It’s a fantastic show. The vibe is just great, the weather is always lovely, and the pots are worth seeing, too!

If you’re not sure what or where it is, follow this link to find out more:

About Potfest in the Pens

Claire and I will be going with Ben Nicolas, our neighbour at Wimbledon Art Studios. Check his stuff out:

I hope you’ll join us. This is going to be the first outing for some completely new ideas I’m working on.  I’m really enthusiastic about these objects - I think they’ll be a fantastic addition to my range. They take me a bit further away from purely functional, into a more challenging mode of expression. But they still work perfectly!

You’ll have to come along and tell me what you think. Look forward to seeing you there.

Thanks for a wonderful Open Studio

To everyone who dropped by on the weekend - a huge thank you! It was a great event for me. I enjoyed meeting you all, whether I’ve known you for years or just made a new friend.

The feedback was fantastic, I’m bursting with new ideas and approaches. Just as well, really, since I practically sold out. It’s great to have space and time to make the things that crowd my brain. I think you’ll be surprised, and pleased, by what’s coming.

I’m now going to lift a pint, and drink to a quiet coast-down to Christmas. Then I’ll be ready for the excitement of the new year. Cheers to you all!

Half way there …

I’ve just come back from showing at the Oxford Ceramics Fair.  A wonderful weekend, despite the dodgy wetaher.  It was great to see my pots in the company of such distinguished makers’.  As a first-time exhibitor there, I learnt a lot from the experience.  And the pots sold well!

That followed a very successful showing at the Farnham Festival of Crafts.  It makes me feel great about the next show, at Brighton.  That, and the Open Studio, will be the last chances to see my stuff this year.  Hope to see you at one or the other.

It’s going to be a busy autumn …

It all seems to be happening at once. I’ll be at three shows in the next six weeks. If that weren’t enough, my pots are moving forward in unexpected and wonderful directions. It’s shaping up to be a great end to the year.

Come and visit me and see what I mean:

Festival of Crafts, Farnham: 17th - 18th October
Festival of Crafts, Farnham Maltings

Oxford Ceramics Fair, King Edwards School: 31st Oct - 1st Nov
Oxford Ceramics Fair

MADE09, Corn Exchange, Brighton: 20th - 22nd Nov
MADE09, Brighton

And, of course, the Open Studio at the end of November. More on that closer to the time …

Potfest in the Pens - afterwards

Thank you to everyone who came to the stall last weekend. I’ve got home, tired but very happy. It was a fantastic show. I enjoyed every minute of it - meeting new and old friends, hearing what they think of the pots, and generally chewing the fat. And great weather made a good weekend perfect.

Every time, I come back from these events energised. I’m already buzzing with new ideas. I can’t wait to start on some new pots. My only regret is that it’s a whole year to wait until the next one, when I can show them to you. I’ll look forward to it, hope to see you there.

Potfest in the Pens

I’m looking forward very much to seeing old friends, and meeting some new ones, at the Potfest in the Pens. If you haven’t been before, you mustn’t miss out this time. It’s the liveliest event in the calendar. There’ll be plenty of great pots, not all of the mine, as well as food, demonstrations, competitions, and potters to chat to. Hope to see you there.

Friday 7th to Sunday 9th of August, in Penrith Agricultural Market. Check out the website for more details:
